This week we celebrated Hanukkah in the office – Israeli’s and office guests together. There is an old over used joke explaining the spirit of Jewish holidays - that says Jewish holidays are all based on the same premise: “they tried to kill us, they failed, let’s eat”. This is true for Hanukkah, Purim and Passover.
However Hanukkah is truly one of my favorite holidays as it holds many different meaning – freedom, independence but most significantly it is associated with light. The Maccabees restored the light of the menorah in the temple – light has always been associated in Judaism with Creation – “let there be light” – "ויהי אור" also a little light can dispel a lot of darkness.
Innovation is all about the spirit of creation – and bringing a little light into our sphere of influence – so from all of us here at DT Israel – wishing you a happy Hanukkah and holiday season!
